
Kumbh Mela
is held at Prayagraj (Formally city was known as Allahabad), every sixth year. Kumbh mela world’s largest congregation of religious pilgrims. At sacred confluence of River Ganga, River Yamuna and the mystical invisible River Sawaswati, the devotees take the holy dip in Sangam (Confluence of three river).Saints from all over the world, gathers with the group of followers, Sadhu, Ascetics, Rishis, pilgrims, with gathers with the utmost devotion, chanting of religious hymns, Mantra make the land truly spiritual.
As per the Hindu Mythology, the story of Ocean Churning which was done by the Goddess and demons to obtain the valuable nectar of immortality. While churning of Ocean venomous poison too emerge from it, which was consumed by Lord Shiva, and upon drinking that poison he came to be called as the Nilkhanta (Nil-Blue, Khanta-Throat). With the continuous churning emerged Kamdhenu (Wealth), and Amrit (Nectar of Immortality). The demons chased the God for the nectar, but the God kept on running for 12 years to avoid nectar to fall in the hands of demons. While running of from the demon some drops of nectar has spilled at four places i.e Haridwar, Prayag, Nashik, and Ujjain, and at these four sacred places at that time the unique astrological alignment of Sun, Moon and Planet Jupiter took place.
PRAYAG KUMBH 2019
The Kumbh Mela have many rituals which includes the holy bath at the confluence of three sacred river Ganga, Yamuna and invisible Sraswati. The Confluence of these three river is known is Triveni Sangam. Various rituals are performed as per the different sects in Hindu, but the basic rituals of Holy bath is done by all the sects of Hindu religion. With the holy bath at Triveni Sangam in Prayagraj people have faith and strongly belief that all the past sins goes of and releases themselves from the cycle of rebirth, leading to the Nirvana or Moksha.
The period of Kumbh is auspicious for saints, sadhus and preachers, they gather at time of Kumbh with their followers and disciples. The pilgrims participate in discourse from various saints and religious preachers.

MAKAR SANKRANTI
- 15th JANUARY 2019 TUESDAY
On the auspicious day for HIndu Religious people, as the sun transits to the tropic of Capricorn from tropic of Cancer. Makar Sankranti is also the bathing day, and the beginning of Kumbh.

PAUSH PURNIMA
- 21st JANUARY 2019 MONDAY
Paush Purnima, falls on the the Full Moon day of Paush Month of Bikrami Samvat Panchang. (Hindu calendar). On the auspicious day of Paush Purnima, at Prayag Sangam, Hindu devotees from all over the world come to take the holy bath at the confluence of River Ganga, Yamuna and invisible mystical river Sarasvati. At the time of Kumbh the number of devotees increases, it is believed that bathing, will relieve all the sins, and grant Salvation.

MAUNI AMAVASYA

Mauni Amavasya is also known as the new moon of silence. It is believed that that water of Triveni Sangam become the nectar on the occasion of Mauni Amawasya. The Maun means silence, Ama means Dark, and Vasya means Lust. It can be easily understand that the particular day of Mauni Amavasya means the day to observe the silence to remove all the lust and darkness of oneself.
The Sages take the vow of silence on this particular day and take the holy bath in river Ganges. People from all round the world visit the Ganges to take the holy bath.

BASANT PANCHAMI

Basant Panchami Vasant Panchami is celebrated every year on the fifth day of the Hindu calendar month of Magha, As for Hindu Devotees the Bansant Panchami is the festival dedicated to the goddess of Knowledge Saraswati. Goddess Saraswati is symbolizes the creative energy and power. This is also a auspicious day for hindu devotees to take the bath in River Ganges, and in the period of Kumbh it has the great significance.

MAGHI PURNIMA

As per Hindu Traditional calendar Magha Purnima falls in the month of Magha on full moon day. It is also known as Maghi Purnima, it is important day for performing religious and spiritual rituals. At time of Kumbh devotees take bath on this particular auspicious day.
