Day 01 : Delhi
Arrive Delhi by an international flight. Meet and greet on arrival
and transfer to hotel for overnight stay.
Day 02 : Delhi - Agra
Morning, drive to AGRA [about 4 hrs drive] to see the world famous
TAJMAHAL built by Emperor Shahjahan in memory of his beloved queen
Mumtaz Mahal to enshrine her mortal Remains. Later visit Red Fort.
Overnight at the hotel.
Day 03 : Agra - Lucknow
Early morning, drive to lucknow [ about 9 hrs] via Sankisa - 47 kms
from Farrukhabad. It is believed to be the place where Lord Buddha,
along with Brahma and Devraj Indra descended after giving sermons to
his mother in heaven. Thereafter proceed for Lucknow for an
overnight stay.
Day 04 : Lucknow - Balrampur
Morning drive to Balrampur situated 134 kms from lucknow and 29 kms
from Balrampur, Saravasti, the capital of the ancient kingdom of
Kosala, has the honour for shelterning Lord Buddha for 24 rainy
seasons in the Jetvana Gaardens. This holy place also has the famous
Anand Bodhi tree , an offspring of the one, said to have been
planted by Lord Buddha's disciple Anand. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 05 : Balrampur - Lumbini
Morning , drive to Lumbini [about 4 hours]. On arrival transfer to
hotel. Afternoon, visit the Maya Devi temple - the birth place Of
Lord Buddha. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 06 : Lumbini - Kushinagar
Morning, drive to Kushinagar [about 4 hrs] and on arrival transfer
to hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 07 : Kushinagar - Patna
Morning, visit temple - the huge statue of the reclining Buddha is a
momentous sight. Also visit Rambhar stupa where Lord Buddha is said
to have been cremated. Afternoon, drive to Patna [about 5 hrs] and
on arrival transfer to hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 08 : Patna - Bodhgaya
Morning, drive to Bodhgaya [about 7 hrs] via Nalanda university
which flourished from 5th century until 1199 A.D. Lord Budha and
Lord Mahavira taught here. Therafter drive to Rajgir" the royal
palace " for both Buddhist and Jains. Continue drive to Bodhgaya for
an overnight stay.
Day 09 : Bodhgaya
The most important Buddhist pilgrimage center. This is the place
where Lord Sakyamuni [Gautam Buddha] enterned into meditation after
being moved by the sufferings of mankind. The giant Bodhi tree
[peeple] that we see today is believed to have grown from the
original bodhi tree under which, sitting on the raised platform,
Prince Siddharth meditated and finally attained Nirvana. Overnight
at the hotel.
Day 10 : Bodhgaya - Varanasi
Morning, drive to Varanasi [about 7 hrs drive] and on arrival
transfer to hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 11 : Varanasi - Delhi
Early morning, boat ride on holy river Ganges to see various ghats.
Late morning, visit Sarnath, about 10 kms from the holy city of
Varansi is the blessed local where more than 2500 years ago Buddha
chose to deliver his first sermon, after attaining nirvana. The five
disciples who had followed him were surprised to see the mesmerizing
glowing countenance of Buddha who convinced them and deliverd his
first sermon before them. Later, transfer to railway station to
board overnight train for Delhi.
Day 12 : Delhi
Arrive Delhi by train. Meet on arrival and transfer to hotel.
Afternoon, city sightseeing tour of Delhi, Overnight at the hotel.
Day 13 : Delhi
Leave Delhi in time transfer to airport to connect flight for your
onward destination.
